Privacy Policy

1. Summary
PDFSleek edits your PDF inside your browser. Your documents are never uploaded to us. We collect as little as we can: an email address if you ask to hear about a launch, and short-lived technical logs that keep the service secure.
2. Scope
This policy covers pdfsleek.com, the PDF editor and tools on it, and the API the site uses. If we change it, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and we'll tell account holders about important changes.
3. What we collect
Your documents: none. PDFs you open are processed on your device, in your browser, and don't reach our servers. If a future tool needs to process a file on our servers, it will say so clearly before you use it.
Launch signups: if you use a Notify me form, we store your email address and which tool or plan you chose.
Technical logs: when your browser talks to our API, our server logs the time, the address requested, the response and your IP address. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website, also processes request data such as your IP address to block attacks.
Visit statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across websites.
In your browser only: if you save a signature or initials, or set your comment name, they're kept in your browser's storage on your device. We never receive them, and you can remove them with Forget or by clearing your browser data.
4. How we use it
- to provide PDFSleek and keep it secure, including limiting abuse of the signup form;
- to understand, in aggregate, which pages and tools people use;
- to email you when the tool or plan you signed up for launches. We don't send marketing you didn't ask for, and we never sell your data.
5. Legal bases (EU and UK)
We process technical logs and visit statistics because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable service. We store launch signup emails with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by asking us to delete your address.
6. Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website delivery, security and cookie-less analytics (global network);
- Contabo GmbH: hosting of our API server and database (data centre in the European Union).
They process data only to provide these services to us. We'll share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
- Launch signups: until we've told you the tool or plan launched, or until you ask us to delete your address;
- Technical logs: a short time; they're rotated and overwritten automatically;
- Documents: never stored, because they never reach us.
8. Security
Every connection uses HTTPS. Our API server accepts no direct connections from the internet; it's reachable only through Cloudflare. We keep the data we hold to a minimum, so there's very little that could be exposed.
9. International transfers
Our API server is in the European Union. Cloudflare operates worldwide, so request data may be processed in the country nearest to you.
10. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing hello@pdfsleek.com. We'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
11. Cookies
PDFSleek sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots.
12. Children
PDFSleek isn't meant for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Contact
